I should like to take this opportunity to thank the Apple Daycare Team, who have continued to make a truly outstanding effort to stay Covid free, getting Vaccinated and Boosted in the face of the Omicron wave. The team have taken a responsible approach to socialising in their own time, to protect their co-workers and children in their care alike!! Thank you.
With regard to illness from today [10/01/2022], please do not bring your child to Nursery if they have any symptoms [see below] until they have returned a NEGATIVE Lateral Flow Test, we also ask that you LFT your child for the Next 7 days before they attend nursery.
Whilst the Government has stuck to the three main symptoms, High Temperature, Continuous Cough and Loss/Change to smell and taste…
running nose
sneezing
head ache
and upset stomachs are all also well known symptoms of coronavirus… (see Zoe Symptom Study App https://covid.joinzoe.com/)
Children living in the same home as a family member who has tested Positive for Covid-19, MUST Lateral Flow Test [& return a negative test] each day prior to attending Nursery, for the duration of their family member's period of isolation. [Under current Government Guidance, Parent's who have tested positive are not permitted to leave home, other than to access medical help].
Omicron appears to be more transmissible, however the resultant illnesses have been very mild for adults and children alike. We are mildly hopeful, that this wave might spell the end of the pandemic and end the need for test and isolate come the Spring...
